Families are usually introduced to Home-Start by someone such as a health visitor, social worker, midwife or family worker, but can contact us themselves.
We will ask for some of the family details from the person that has contacted us on behalf of the family and make a record on our 'referral form'.
One of our co-ordinators will then get in touch with the family directly within a few days and arrange a convenient time to visit them at home.
When they visit our coordinator will tell the family about Home-Start, explain the kind of support we can offer, answer questions they may have about our service and organisation and explain what will happen next.
If the family would like to have a volunteer visit them the co-ordinator will look to identify a suitable volunteer and then arrange to introduce the volunteer to the family.
